Like most other businesses, we’ve had to make some changes during 2020 and 2021. But our office-based teams are happiest when working alongside colleagues in one of our three UK locations, our office in Pennsylvania or our factory in China.

Day to day life

We believe in equipping our people so they can do their job without worrying about not having the right kit. From providing suitable work vehicles to fully-expensed workwear and equipment – we’ll give you the tools to be able to get on with your job.

Our field teams can find they’re sometimes working away from home. This may be necessary in order to be on site with a customer in good time. We do try to minimise this, but there will be instances where you’ll be staying overnight in a hotel.

SIPS

SIPS (there’s the acronym again) is the Stiltz Incremental Profit Scheme. Depending on business performance, everyone receives a profit-based, company-wide bonus three times a year. This is uncapped, so as our profits increase, we all benefit.

Stiltz Social Events

There’s an annual party where everyone in the business and their partners gets together for an evening of dining, dancing and fun (there might be a glass of champagne involved too!). There are usually some great raffle prizes on offer as well!

A generous holiday allocation is provided plus an extra ‘birthday’ day off for all staff members

Stiltz provide 6 x annual salary life assurance for all employees.

BHSF Cash Health Plan

BHSF Cash Health Plan. The BHSF Cash Health Plan is available to all staff. The scheme provides cash back against expenditure such as complementary therapies, eye tests and dental treatment. Cover is available for employee’s partner and children also and there’s an opportunity to top up if desired. Access to the BHSF Connect App is also provided. This is an easy-to-use health, welfare and advice app which also gives access to big brand discounts.

More acronyms! The Stiltz Employee Engagement Meetings. A staff feedback mechanism where employee representatives from all UK offices meet with HR and the CEO to discuss issues raised by staff in each location.

Stiltz Culture

Never ones to shy away from an acronym, our favourite is SMACK. Secure, Motivated, Appreciated, Challenged and Knowledgable. It’s our mantra for making sure all our staff are getting the best out of their workplace; and that we’re getting the best out of them. Win win.

Our CEO Mike, holds regular briefings where he shares a wide range of information with the whole team. Everyone is brought up to date on business performance, product road maps, key performance metrics and, importantly – when the next bonus might be due. There’s an opportunity for feedback and questions at each meeting.

Our Time In Other People’s Shoes (TIOPS) program allows Stiltz employees to shadow members in other departments closely linked to their area. This scheme will enable each staff member to understand each other’s day-to-day work, the pressures they face, and how we affect each other’s working day. TIOPS aims to strengthen trust, communication, and mutual understanding throughout the organisation. The role-exchanging program will have a staged launch in 2023 and 2024 to allow all employees to spend time (not literally, though) in other people’s shoes.
